No meat…none. This is a “VEGETABLE” category.

*A “fatty” is basically a sausage roll without a casing (think Jimmy Dean).  It is made of ground meat and may be either stuffed with other ingredients, or have ingredients mixed throughout. It can be pre-seasoned. It may not be pre-cooked or contain pre-cooked ingredients.

 No skewers or toothpicks !

ALL meats will be inspected by a NEBS Rep. on the morning of March 29TH. They must be kept at 40 degrees or lower for health reasons until cooked.

Attention teams!

Don't forget about the "Raffle Table" at this year's Snowshoe! Many of the products being offered may be the very ones that YOU may use! We have rubs, sauces, and goodies from all over the country. And it's for a good cause. All raffle proceeds go to the Abington Food Pantry!

Directions -  Route 18 in Weymouth is SO messed up with construction right now, so my advice is to make your way down Route 3 South (toward the Cape) and take Exit 14 - Rte 228 into Rockland, my hometown.

Be aware, though, Central Street has some pretty good potholes.

Grocery Stores -  There is a Super Stop and Shop a half a mile away from the VFW.  Bear left out of the parking lot, at the lights take a left, at the next set of lights, take a left and Stop and Shop will be on your right behind Blockbuster and Wendy's.

There is also a Trucchi's Supermarket about 1 mile away. Bear left out of the parking lot, through the lights at St. Bridget's, past the police station. At the end of Central Street, take a right. Follow Washington Street past the Frolio school and do not bear right at the small fork, stay straight. You will come out to Rte 18, Trucchi's will be across the street from you.

Ash - There is a giant charcoal pit in the grove area of the VFW. Gary or I will be happy to show you where it is, please ask us if we forget. This is where your ash should go, NOT dumped around the parking lot.

Trash - There is a dumpster right next to the kitchen door, USE IT! Please make sure your 20x20 area is as clean as it was when you got there.

Grease -  Take it with you! There are no facilities to take grease at the VFW.

Bathrooms - there are bathrooms inside the Member's lounge. Please make sure to register your team name in the VFW Guest Book the first time you come in. It is their policy

Beverages - the VFW requests that we buy beverages from their bar. Teams are able to return to their sites with them. Please do not BYOB.

Electricity - There is electricity, but it is very limited. Please contact Gary IN ADVANCE if you NEED electricity.

Water - There is hot and cold water available for us in the kitchen, please have water containers to bring it back to your site - Sorry, NO HOSES.

Lodging -  There is a Comfort Inn, a Ramada Inn, and a Best Western right after you get off the highway in Rockland. Don't forget to call KCBS to use your hotel discount if you are going to stay at the Comfort Inn!
